Matthew Sessions

I began this study yesterday and plan to do a deep dig on one chapter of the book each day. Or I might just read through the traditional Christmas-related chapters in each gospel. Yesterday's study yielded the following from Chapter 1 in the Bible and also in an Enduring Word commentary:

"Jesus is heir of a line in which flows  the blood of the harlot Rahab, and of the rustic Ruth; he is akin to the fallen and the lowly, and he will show his love even to the poorest and most obscure." (Charles Spurgeon)

"When we have to do a severe thing, let us choose the tenderest manner." (Charles Spurgeon)

"We can deeply meditate on the meaning of this name --- Immanuel ['God with us']. It shows how low God bent down to save man ..."

"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)
